Tony Evans Steps Away from Senior Pastoral Duties at OBC

Christian Bible Teaching and Resource Ministry

The Urban Alternative (WEB) is a Christian Bible teaching and resource ministry founded over 40 years ago by Dr. Tony Evans, a pastor, teacher, author, and speaker who promotes a kingdom agenda. On Sunday, June 9, at both services, Dr. Evans announced that he would be stepping away from his senior pastoral duties at Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship (OCBF) to focus on his ministry with WEB.

WEB's Mission

WEB aims to spread the teaching of God's Word through Christian media with the goal of transforming lives. Through programs like "The Tony Evans Show," "Kingdom Connection," and various online resources, WEB reaches a global audience with biblical insights and practical applications for daily living.

Impact of Dr. Evans' Decision

Dr. Evans' decision to step away from OCBF has significant implications for both the church and the broader Christian community. He has been a respected and influential figure within the OCBF congregation and beyond, known for his warm personality, relatable preaching style, and leadership in various ministries. His absence as senior pastor is expected to bring about changes and transitions within the church.

Future Plans

Although Dr. Evans will no longer lead OCBF as senior pastor, he will continue to be involved in the church as a pastor emeritus. He will also continue his work with WEB, which is headquartered in the Dallas area. Through his continued teaching and ministry, Dr. Evans aims to continue impacting lives and sharing the gospel with the world.
